Sora wo Kakeru Shoujo

15 03 2009

Well, this is a interesting show. So far I can’t tell if I like it or hate it. At some points I find myself starring blankly at the screen asking myself, “Just why the fuck am I still watching this?”, and at other points I find myself quite entertained by the show, and looking foreword to more of it. I just find it one of those hard shows to properly classify. I mean, a lot of it I find stupid, I’ll fully admit. I’ve never been extremely fond with anime that.. You know does that huge ass head thing when someones mad or… Well this:

I just never really liked shows that did that. and similar things.. Now I understand some of you might by wondering what I’m talking about because I have given similar shows good remarks. I’ll also admit, I do have a few favorite shows that do similar style stuff. But I’ll say this.. Once a show does this crap, it goes into the negative scale. And it takes a lot to work its self up into a decent show with that crap.  I like more.. serious anime.. And it does show in the stuff I watch. However, I still find myself watching Sora wo Kakeru Shoujo, and that means that it has to be doing something right.

Now for those of you familiar with this show, it’s a story about a girl who for some reason becomes the “queen” of a brain colony. Okay, this is also set in the future, and a lot more takes place then just that. But if you want some hard core definition look it up on My Anime List or something else.

Another thing… Ive noticed this trend in these “in the future anime” and that is, lack of clothes. Now hey sweet, but honestly.. In the future all the girls will wear almost nothing. Bloody awesome huh?

And okay, what the hell. To quote from My Anime List:

“The story is set in the year 311 of the Orbital Calendar, when humanity has migrated to countless colony clusters in space. A space colony girl named Akiha Shishidō encounters
a malevolent artificial intelligence named Leopard that has been installed on a colony.
Akiha is joined by an Inter-Colony Police officer named Itsuki Kannagi, a taciturn young girl named Honoka Kawai, and a robot named Imoko “Imo-chan” Shishidou.”

And with that said.. You might like it. It is a decent show, I’m still watching it. One of the reasons is probably cause I like the first 20 seconds and last 20 seconds of the starting theme song… But yes! Give it a go, I’m still on the fence over this one but.. It could turn out to be worth it.
